Use of the site

This site describes the services Koala Novels offers to independent authors. By using it you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please don't use the site.

Enquiries are not contracts

Nothing on this site is a binding offer. Package descriptions are indicative and prices are quoted per project. Work begins only once we have sent a written quote and you have accepted it in writing. Where a quote says something different from this page, the quote governs.

What you own

You keep all rights in your manuscript. Deliverables we produce — cover artwork, formatted files, copy, source files — become yours on final payment, with no continuing royalty or licence fee owed to us.

Two exceptions: third-party assets such as stock imagery and fonts reach you under their own licences, which we name in the quote; and we may show finished covers in a portfolio unless you ask us not to.

What we own

The text, design, and code of this site are © Koala Novels. You may link to it and quote briefly from it with attribution. You may not reproduce it wholesale or use it to train machine learning or generative AI models.

No guarantee of results

We do not guarantee sales, rankings, reviews, advertising performance, or acceptance by any retailer. Outcomes depend on the book, the category, and the market — most of it outside anyone's control. Any figures we discuss are illustrative, not promises.

Third-party platforms

Retailers, serial platforms, and advertising services have their own terms, which you are responsible for following. We are not responsible for their decisions, including account suspension, content removal, category placement, or changes to their rules or payouts.

Your responsibilities

You confirm that any manuscript or material you send us is yours to use, does not infringe anyone else's rights, and is lawful to publish. We rely on that, and we may decline or stop work on anything we believe fails it.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no guarantees about availability, accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost sales or lost profits. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date above reflects the current version. Projects already underway continue under the terms in force when the quote was accepted.
